Montgomery -- Alabama Attorney General Bill Pryor and 38 Republican officials, including a majority of GOP legislators, sent a letter to Texas Governor George W. Bush urging him to run for the Republican Presidential nomination in 2000.

"I am impressed with his thoughtful contributions to juvenile justice reform, civil justice reform and his no-nonsense approach to government."
Greg Wren, Vice-Chair of the House Republican Caucus praised Bush's "commitment to personal and professional integrity." "It's time we have a President we can be proud of." Added Senator Larry Dixon, "His leadership and moral character have never been more necessary in the Oval office."
Lieutenant Governor Steve
