The
most frequently selected front page images showed Senator Lieberman on
the podium, either alone or with wife Hadassah (front page in 10 of 12
papers, all as lead photo). Most of these photos showed Senator Lieberman
alone at the podium; in three he was with his wife (USA Today, Miami
Herald and La Opinion). The New York Times and
Los
Angeles Times used images of Lieberman that look to have been taken
at the same moment from slightly different angles. Several papers
used photos of Lieberman taken from the back of the podium, with the convention
floor forming a colorful backdrop.
Images
of Vice President Gore and daughter Karenna appeared on a number of front
pages (4 of 12 examined) generally below the fold and smaller than the
Lieberman photos, but making the cover of the tabloid New York Post.
