The celebration was an overflow attendance of 12,000 plus guests at the largest hotel in Washington and took place on the eve of the Inauguration of George W. Bush as 43rd President of the United States.  The event occupied all the ballroom spaces featuring nine themed entertainment stages and stars that included Clint Black, Lyle Lovett, The Beach Boys, Asleep At The Wheel, Tanya Tucker, Lee Greenwood, Mark Chesnutt, 70 Kilgore College Rangerettes, The Texas A & M Ross Volunteers, The Lake Highlands High School Wildcat Wrangler Dancers and others. 

The event also featured a Texas Fair which filled a 30,000 square foot exhibit space on property with technology exhibits from Raytheon, Dell Computer and Enron. It also featured livestock exhibits from the Fort Worth Zoo, Texas A & M and The University of Texas. 

The event also featured a black tie sponsor dinner hosted by Texas Senator Kay Bailey Hutchinson for 900 with a member of Senate or Congress at each table and a sports bar dubbed “The Lone Star Sports Bar” where Mr. Bob Allen from the ABC affiliate in Houston interviewed sports celebrities such as Mary Lou Retton, Roger Staubach, Roger Clemens, Zina Garrison, Darrel Royal, Jim Nantz, Ben Crenshaw, Chuck Norris and others. Throughout the evening guests enjoyed an opulent buffet featuring Texas Barbecue as well as Mexican Food specialties. 

The event also sustained visits from President and Mrs. Bush and Vice-President and Mrs. Cheney in two locations. In the Main Ballroom at approximately 9:00 p.m. President Bush was presented for remarks onto a stage featuring the portico of the White House as Lee Greenwood sang “ God Bless The USA” in a patriotic finale that included 180 performers and red, white and blue confetti. 

The extremely successful celebration lasted from 7:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. and is being referred as one of the largest single Presidential Inaugural Celebrations in Washington history.
