July 14                Kasich announces he is ending his presidential quest and will not seek re-election to Congress in 2000.  Texas Gov. George W. Bush joins Kasich in a Washington press conference and receives the congressman's endorsement.

February 26-27          Feb. 26 Reception at home in Concord (Barbara Barrett).  Feb. 27 Reception at home in Derry  (Katherine Prudhome); reception at home in Nashua  (Mary Caprio).  Meanwhile, six other Republican presidential hopefuls appeared at the California GOP Convention in Sacramento on Feb. 26-28; Kasich, who had last year planned to do a fundraiser for Democrat Gary Condit, a friend, was not invited.

October 29              As part of a busy October travel schedule, Kasich does three events in Newport: tours Sturm Ruger & Company firearms with Congressman Charlie Bass, does main street with Bass and state Senate candidate Beverly Rodeschin, and does a reception for Rodeschin.
