  • House Speaker Dennis Hastert (R-IL) and The Rock. Speaker Hastert, the permanent chairman of the convention, and The Rock, World Wrestling Federation champ and one of most electrifying sports entertainers today, will call the delegates to their seats.
  • Presentation of the Colors by Boy Scout Troop 82 of Somerset, KY, and the Campfire Boys and Girls of Pennsylvania;
  • Joe Guerra, father of eight and small businessman from Laredo, Texas. Pledge of Allegiance.
  • Rebecca King, a singer, songwriter and recording artist from McLean, Virginia. National Anthem.
  • Steve Young, former 49ers quarterback, and the highest-rated QB in NFL history, will deliver the invocation.
  • Harold Melvin's Blue Notes. A rhythm-and-blues act capturing the sound of Philadelphia. Entertainment.
  • The Delfonics. Another Philadelphia classic. Rhythm-and-blues artists. Entertainment.
  • Kenny Gamble, a Grammy-award winning musical superstar (he's written, produced and recorded over 3,000 songs) and founder of Universal Community Homes of South Philadelphia, will speak about urban renewal and revitalization.
8:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M.
  • Hector Barreto, a California small-business owner, will deliver a message of optimism and diversity when he discusses the importance of providing opportunity in every community.
  • Gayle White, a 5th generation farmer from Oklahoma, will address the challenges facing the family farm in the new century.
  • Profile in Compassion Video: Center for Training Employment. Located in Cleveland, Ohio, El Barrio, a private assistance center, provides food assistance and other support to those in need in the city's Hispanic community.
  • Leilani Durate, of Beaver Dam, Wisconsin. A single mother of twins, she will share her welfare reform success story and the road to independence she followed.
  • Kim Jennings, of Rodgers, Arkansas. Jennings, a single mom, will discuss the need for tax relief while balancing the challenges of her education, her career and her daughter.
  • Governor Jim Gilmore (R-VA). Gilmore, a convention National Caucus Team Co-Chairman, will talk about tearing down the toll booth to the middle class by lowering taxes.

  • Christina Jones, president and founder of pcOrder, of Austin Texas, a leading online provider of electronic commerce solutions. She will explain how Governor Bush's formula of cutting taxes, encouraging investment, and reforming education are the right mix for success in the age of the new economy.
  • Raul Fernandez, Chairman, CEO and Founder of Proxicom in Reston, Virginia. Fernandez, who's firm has enjoyed more than 100 percent annual growth since it started in 1991, exemplifies Governor Bush's plan to fostering the growth of the New Economy.
  • John Kasich, U.S. Rep. (R-Ohio), the House Budget Committee Chairman, who will speak about the budget priorities of tax relief and Social Security in the New Economy

  • Rabbi Marvin Hier, Founder and Dean of the Simon Wiesenthal Center's Museum of Tolerance in Los Angeles, California, has made an unparalleled contribution to tolerance education and the need for understanding. Hier will introduce Mayor Richard Riordan.
