According to the Brennan Center for Justice (Oct. 30, 2000 report) for the week of Oct. 17-24, the Las Vegas market was second in the nation for the number of presidential ads run with 968 (behind only Albuquerque).  The Bush campaign, Republican party and supportive groups ran 392 total ads.  The Gore campaign ran a Nevada-specific ad on the nuclear waste issue, "Nevada", starting Oct. 17.

Miscellaneous Notes Miscellaneous Notes
Bush's only campaign visit to Nevada took place on May 31-June 1.  He did a fundraiser in Reno late on May 31.  On June 1 he made an environmental policy speech at Sand Harbor State Park on Lake Tahoe and did a fundraiser in Glenbrook. Gore's only other visit to Nevada in the 2000 cycle was in Oct. 1999.

Other Candidates
Nader.  Ralph Nader visited Nevada on Sept. 15; he spoke about the environmental dangers surrounding the high-level nuclear waste storage center at Yucca Mountain at UNLV in Las Vegas.

Buchanan. Pat Buchanan held a news conference and showed off his new television ads at the Tropicana in Las Vegas on Oct. 27.
