Current Governor of Wisconsin (first elected in November 1986; re-elected to a fourth term in 1998).  
 
Career Re-elected in 1994 with almost 68 percent of the vote. 
Re-elected in 1990 with 58 percent of the vote. 
Elected Governor in 1986, defeating incumbent Democrat with 53 percent of the vote. 
Elected to the state Assembly in 1966, defeating a long-term incumbent.  Elected assistant minority leader in 1973 and minority leader in 1981.  Practiced law while serving in the Assembly.
