Feb. 20-23, 1999. Gov. Thompson was an active participant at the National Governors' Association's 1999 Winter Meeting.

July 3, 1998. Gov. Thompson and wife Sue Ann  put in a Washington, DC appearance at a Wisconsin tailgate party during the Smithsonian Folklife Festival on the Mall in Washington. He had also been in the capital less than two weeks earlier, participating in a Harley ride from Madison to DC. Thompson and two of his predecessors chair the Wisconsin Sesquicentennial Commission, which has organized more than a thousand events to celebrate the 150th anniversary of Wisconsin becoming a state.    
 
 
 
Mid-June 1998--Madison, Wisconsin. Gov. Thompson's campaign headquarters was starting to get organized. He is seeking his fourth term as Governor.
