Majority Leader Trent Lott spoke on Friday. He reported that the Senate
had narrowly failed to override the President's veto of the ban on
partial
birth abortions. "If I could just get three more reliable Senators...we
could move on with our agenda of freedom and democracy and moral values
in America," Lott said.
