Howard Phillips looks on as Herb Titus, his 1996 vice presidential running
mate, speaks at a Coalition for a Congressional Impeachment Inquiry news
conference at the National Press Club. Phillips, chair of the Conservative
Caucus, organized the coalition back in February 1994. In late 1997 the
group renewed its efforts, backing Congressman Bob Barr's (R-GA) efforts
to initiate an impeachment inquiry on President Clinton. |
